Summary: A comprehensive treatment of optimization applications.
Comment: I have used this book in a course that I taught on Optimization applications. The students like the wide range of realistic examples in the book. The resulting models are linear and nonlinear, with both continuous and integer-valued variables. For many applications in distribution, finance, and production, some of the template models can be used almost "off-the-shelf". For complicated applications, sophisticated students can use the modeling language to create new applications. The powerful spreadsheet interface is very useful for retrieving data from and inserting optimized results into spreadsheets. The software that accompanies the book is state-of-the art.
